Shearing of thick and HEAVY PLATES, even with high tensile strengths, requires perfect quality of shears, and knives. Extreme high impact loads need to be absorbed, rough scaled surfaces need to be cut, temperature and hardness fluctuations need to be taken in account.

Romani’s knives materials recommended for this application are special tool steels characterized by high level of toughness and shock resistance. It is essential to avoid possible chip-off of the cutting edge, which in this case is the first risk to take into consideration.
